Khartoum: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation welcomed the positive statement issued today, Thursday, by the Secretariat of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD).
According to Sudan News Agency, the Ministry stated: "The Government of Sudan welcomes the positive statement issued today, 29 January 2026, by the Secretariat of IGAD, in which the organization, through its Executive Secretary, condemned all forms of violations committed by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and affirmed its full support for Sudan's unity, sovereignty, and existing national institutions."
The statement further expressed Sudan's gratitude and appreciation for the valuable efforts of Ismail Omar Guelleh, Chair of the current IGAD session, and extended thanks to the Executive Secretary of the organization.
