Addis ababa: Sudan’s Minister of Digital Transformation and Telecommunications, Engineer Ahmed Al-Dirdeeri Ghandour, highlighted the critical role of digital transformation in the nation’s reconstruction efforts during the China-Africa Digital Industry Cooperation Forum. This event, held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, brought together senior representatives from China, the African Union, and the UN Development Programme.
According to Sudan News Agency, the Minister presented Sudan’s digital transformation roadmap focused on four key priorities: developing smart and resilient digital infrastructure, enhancing digital transformation and cybersecurity by establishing a National Cybersecurity Authority and an AI Authority, investing in human capital by empowering youth and women in emerging technologies, and fostering equitable, strategic partnerships.

The Minister lauded the initiative by the President of China to prioritize digital cooperation in Africa-China relations, acknowledging China’s ongoing support for African countries rooted in mutual respect and common goals.
In his closing remarks, Ghandour reaffirmed Sudan’s dedication to advancing digital transformation, asserting that technology is a universal language of peace and shared prosperity. He urged a shift from dialogue to action and from ambition to achievement.
