Tokyo: Sudan’s Ambassador to Tokyo, Al-Rayah Haidub, has witnessed the signing of a contract for Sudan’s participation in the International Agricultural and Horticultural Exhibition in Japan at the embassy on Thursday, July 17, 2025. The exhibition will be held in the Japanese city of Yokohama in 2027 and will run for eight months, from March to September 2027.
According to Sudan News Agency, the Japanese Plenipotentiary, Ambassador Koshikawa Kazuhiko, signed on behalf of the Japanese side, while Buthaina Mohammed Al-Hassan Idris, Director General of the Sudanese Ministry of Agriculture, signed on behalf of Sudan. More than 100 countries and a number of international companies specializing in agricultural technology are to participate in this international exhibition.
This event provides an opportunity to showcase Sudan’s agricultural capabilities, promote Sudanese agricultural products and exports, and attract investments in this sector. Sudan previously participated in the International Agricultural Exhibition in Doha in 2023, a participation that won several international awards and acclaim.
In the same promotional framework, Sudan is now participating with a full pavilion at the Osaka Expo in Japan, a cultural, economic, and trade promotion event that began last April and will continue until October 2025. This participation is supported by the Japanese government as part of its support for developing countries.
