Khartoum: Sudan has been officially invited to participate in an international forum set to be held in Paris, focusing on crucial issues related to water, energy, and food. This development was revealed following a meeting between Sudan's Minister of Cabinet Affairs, Dr. Limaa AbdulGhaffar, and a delegation from the Euro-Arab Union for Geomatics in the Middle East. The delegation was led by Professor Haider Al-Sanousi, the Deputy Director of the Union's Middle East Office.
According to Sudan News Agency, Professor Haider Al-Sanousi presented a detailed report during the meeting about the upcoming academic, cultural, and investment forum, scheduled for early May 2026 in Paris. The forum aims to gather representatives from 46 countries and over a thousand experts to deliberate on pivotal matters concerning water, energy, and food. Sudan has been formally invited to be a part of this significant event.
Dr. Limia Abdul-Ghaffar expressed that Sudan's participation in the forum is a strategic opportunity for the nation to reclaim its influential position in these essential sectors. She emphasized the state's commitment to advancing scientific and academic research, particularly in the fields of energy and water.
