Khartoum: Sudan, represented by its Permanent Representative to the Arab League, Ambassador Emad-Eddin Adawi, took part in the preparatory ministerial meeting for the emergency Arab-Islamic summit scheduled for Monday in Doha. The meeting was led by Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, and included the participation of foreign ministers from Arab League member states and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. Secretaries-General of both organizations and delegations from member states were also present.
According to Sudan News Agency, the meeting focused on reviewing the draft statement to be issued by the summit, which is set to convene at the level of leaderships and heads of government. This summit marks a significant diplomatic effort in reaction to the recent Israeli aggression against Qatar on 9 September, an act that resulted in civilian casualties and has been met with widespread condemnation from Arab, Islamic, and international communities. The calls for collective action to counter the Israeli escalation aim to maintain regional security and stability.
