Khartoum: Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Ali Babiker Sayed Ahmed, held a meeting on Sunday with Rosaria Bruno, UN Deputy Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator for Sudan, along with senior Ministry officials, to explore strategies for enhancing collaboration between the Ministry of Health and humanitarian partners.
According to Sudan News Agency, the discussions centered on expanding initiatives to tackle the cholera outbreak, emphasizing the need for bolstered prevention and control measures, and improving access to essential health services in the most affected regions, especially in priority states.
The meeting also underscored the necessity of integrating health and humanitarian efforts, enhancing coordination to ensure the provision of health services and humanitarian aid to all impacted communities across Sudan. This approach aims to fortify the health system's resilience and address the increasing humanitarian needs.
Dr. Ali Babiker Sayed Ahmed reiterated the Ministry's dedication to collaborating closely with the United Nations and humanitarian partners, ensuring a conducive environment for coordinated actions that deliver an effective and fair response to all citizens without discrimination.
Rosaria Bruno reaffirmed the United Nations' pledge to sustain its support for Sudan's health sector and to strengthen its partnership with the Ministry of Health.
