Sudan Affirms Importance of Strengthening International Cooperation in Peaceful Uses of Outer Space

Sudan: Sudan has affirmed the importance of strengthening international cooperation in the field of the peaceful uses of outer space in a manner that ensures the benefits of space activities are accessible to all countries and supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in least developed countries and states experiencing conflict and post-conflict conditions.

According to Sudan News Agency, Sudan called for enhanced international efforts aimed at facilitating technology transfer, advancing scientific and academic cooperation, and building capacities, including partnerships with research institutions in developing countries.

The statement was delivered by the Permanent Representative of Sudan to the United Nations and International Organizations in Vienna, Ambassador Magdi Ahmed Mofadhal, before the 63rd session of the Scientific and Technical Subcommittee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space, held at the Vienna International Centre from Feb. 2 to 13, 2026.
