Khartoum: The Government of Sudan has raised alarms regarding a conspiracy targeting the Sudanese state, allegedly orchestrated by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia and supported by mercenary forces since their uprising on April 15, 2023. This development, according to Sudanese authorities, threatens not only the sovereignty of Sudan but also regional and international peace and security.
According to Sudan News Agency, a press statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation revealed that the Government of Sudan has documented evidence of involvement by mercenaries from the Republic of Colombia and some neighboring countries. These mercenaries, reportedly sponsored and funded by the Abu Dhabi regime, are said to be contributing to a cross-border terrorist conflict, undermining the sovereignty of states across the African continent.
The Sudanese government has submitted documents to the United Nations Security Council through its Permanent Mission in New York, highlighting this proxy war. Regional and international organizations, as well as media investigative reports, have also documented this phenomenon, which the government describes as a new reality threatening regional stability.
The statement from the Government of Sudan underscores the urgent need for regional and international communities to acknowledge and address this dangerous trend, warning of the severe consequences for peace and security.
