Khartoum: The State Minister at the Ministry of Finance, Advisor Mohamed Abdeldaim, engaged in discussions with World Bank Group’s Deputy General Counsel, Ms. Sheila Braka Musiime, along with her delegation, to address the challenges posed by the ongoing conflict in Sudan and the extensive damage to the nation’s infrastructure.
According to Sudan News Agency, the meeting included the Undersecretary of Planning at the Ministry of Finance, Mohamed Bashar, Sudan’s Ambassador to the United States, Mohamed Abdullah Idris, and other members of the delegation. The discussions centered on the government’s efforts to facilitate the return of displaced citizens and to initiate reconstruction projects, focusing on critical sectors such as health, water, and education.
The State Minister outlined Sudan’s developmental needs and emphasized the importance of the World Bank’s support. He urged the organization to utilize its financing mechanisms and instruments to fund infrastructure projects that would directly benefit the citizens of Sudan.
