Khartoum: The Measurement and Calibration Unit of the Sudanese Standards and Metrology Organization (SSMO) – Red Sea Sector – carried out a comprehensive calibration campaign targeting fuel meters and scales used in sales and distribution operations, within the organization’s efforts to ensure measurement accuracy and consumer protection.
According to Sudan News Agency, the campaign included the calibration and sealing of 40 meters in fuel depots belonging to several companies, in addition to the review and sealing of 19 meters for mobile fuel tankers, as well as the calibration of 27 gas scales designated for filling gas cylinders.
The Director of the SSMO’s Red Sea Sector, Engineer Al-Waleed Mohamed Osman, asserted that this step came within the organization’s strategy to instill a culture of adherence to technical controls and enhance reliability in commercial transactions. He praised the cooperation of depot owners and fuel and gas companies, and their understanding of the importance of calibration in improving the quality of services.
For his part, Head of the Measurement and Calibration Division, Khalifa Mohammed Osman, explained that these activities are implemented as part of a periodic work plan aimed at verifying the safety and accuracy of measuring devices, thus contributing to protecting consumer rights and building confidence in local markets.
