Khartoum: Sovereignty Council member Dr. Salma Abdel-Jabbar Al-Mubarak affirmed the state's commitment to strengthening the role of women, supporting them, and sponsoring their activities. Dr. Salma emphasized the state's interest in women's issues and its dedication to enhancing their role in all areas of life, aligning with their aspirations and goals. She addressed the meeting of heads of local and sectoral bodies of the General Union of Sudanese Women in Khartoum State, assuring that women's activities would receive support from institutions representing them across all Sudanese states, enabling them to fulfill societal aspirations.
According to Sudan News Agency, Dr. Salma noted that the celebration of Independence Day coincided with Khartoum's liberation from the rebel terrorist Rapid Support Forces militia, symbolizing the Sudanese people's pride and rejection of injustice. She explained that the federal government's return to Khartoum State would aid in supporting women and addressing their challenges. Dr. Salma also highlighted the need for marketing opportunities for women's productive capabilities, which would encourage business expansion and product marketing.
The Governor of Khartoum, Professor Ahmed Othman Hamza, commended the sacrifices and resilience of women, particularly during the Battle of Dignity, where they actively participated and sacrificed their lives. He emphasized women's crucial role in the upcoming phase aimed at recovering from the turmoil caused by the rebel militia to humiliate and displace the Sudanese people.
Dr. Ahlam Ahmed Ibrahim, President of the General Union of Sudanese Women, reiterated women's ability and readiness to contribute towards achieving the nation's safety and unity. She emphasized preserving the dignity of the Sudanese people and enabling women to play a leading role in society as mothers, sisters, and wives.
