Khartoum: The joint six-member committee held a meeting on Monday between the Zakat Chamber and the National Health Insurance Fund at Sheikh Al-Qaradawi Hall at the Zakat Chamber headquarters in Khartoum, chaired by the Director-General of Human Resources and Finance at the Zakat Chamber, Faisal Hassan Adam.
According to Sudan News Agency, Adam stated that the meeting discussed several issues of mutual interest aimed at enhancing cooperation between the two institutions. This cooperation is intended to provide health support for the poor and needy, as well as to expand the scope of health services offered to them. He emphasized the significance of ongoing coordination to achieve shared humanitarian and social objectives.
Deputy Director-General of the National Health Insurance Fund and committee member Siddiq Wahb Allah confirmed the Fund's dedication to strengthening its partnership with the Zakat Chamber. The goal is to achieve integration in delivering health services to eligible groups and alleviating burdens on vulnerable segments of society. He noted that the committee meeting addressed shared issues between the two institutions across Sudan's states, reaching an agreement that promotes the implementation of partnerships in serving poor families.
Wahb Allah further explained that the committee tasked the Zakat Chamber with identifying poor families eligible for health insurance services across the various states of Sudan. Additionally, they agreed on settling arrears and reviewing data of subscribers sponsored by the Chamber, contributing to improved coordination and ensuring services reach their rightful beneficiaries.
The committee concluded its discussions with the file of South Kordofan State, reaching an agreement on addressing arrears to ensure the continuation of health services. Wahb Allah praised the support of the Secretary-General of the Zakat Chamber and the Director-General of the National Health Insurance Fund for the committee and their endorsement of its decisions.
