Dakar: Chairperson of the Senegalese Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Relations, Senegalese Abroad, and International Cooperation, Ms. Fatou Diop Ciss©, has affirmed Sudan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
According to Sudan News Agency, this affirmation came during a meeting between Sudan’s Ambassador to Senegal, Abdulghani Al-Naeem Awad Al-Karim, and Ms. Fatou Diop Ciss©. Present at the meeting were the Committee’s Vice Chairperson and the member responsible for parliamentary foreign relations with North Africa.
Ambassador Al-Naeem reviewed the historical bilateral relations between the two countries and the developments they have witnessed, emphasizing the importance of cooperation and exchange in all fields. He also addressed the external conspiracy and targeting of Sudan’s sovereignty, unity, and peace, highlighting recent attempts to establish an illegal, fictitious organization led by a terrorist militia, which he described as a violation of the rights and capabilities of the Sudanese people.
Ms. Fatou Diop Ciss© reiterated Senegal’s unwavering position on Sudan’s sovereignty, unity, and peace. She emphasized that this stance is based on respect for international law and a commitment to African integration, as well as the stability, security, peace, and development of African countries.
The Chairperson of the Committee expressed a willingness to further cooperation and exchange of expertise and experiences between the two countries, and coordination on common issues in regional and international forums.
