Khartoum: The Sudan News Agency (SUNA) has learned that the UN Security Council will hold an open session on Friday, June 27, to hear the UN Secretary-General’s periodic briefing on the situation in Sudan. The open session is scheduled to be followed by closed consultations among Council members, with the participation of the UN Secretary-General’s Personal Representative to Sudan, Mr. Ramtane Lamamra, who will provide a briefing on the latest political efforts being made by the United Nations to push forward the dialogue process between the Sudanese parties.
According to Sudan News Agency, the open session will serve as a platform for the UN Secretary-General to update the Security Council on the current developments and challenges in Sudan. The briefing will focus on the ongoing political dynamics in the country, highlighting the efforts being made to engage various Sudanese stakeholders in constructive dialogue.
