Khartoum: Member of the Transitional Sovereign Council, Dr. Salma Abdel-Gabbar Al-Mubarak, emphasized the importance of recognizing the role of youth in Sudan’s progress during the Youth Issues Conference. The conference, organized by the Sudan Youth Federation under the banner “Towards Normalizing Civilian Life and Reconstruction,” saw participation from various state officials and youth leaders, including the Wali of Gezira State.
According to Sudan News Agency, Dr. Salma urged university vice-chancellors and historians to document the contributions and sacrifices of the youth during the Battle of Dignity and integrate these narratives into educational curricula. She highlighted the government’s commitment to supporting the conference’s initiatives and addressing the challenges faced by the youth sector.
Al-Tahir Ibrahim Al-Khair, the Wali of Gezira State, emphasized the need to rejuvenate both the spirit and infrastructure of the state. He noted the ongoing developments in various service sectors and reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to implementing the conference’s resolutions.
Majdi Al-Zubair Yousif, the Head of the State Youth Federation, expressed the union’s readiness to support a series of development and service projects. He pledged assistance to executive bodies in rebuilding areas affected by conflict.
The conference featured discussions on nine working papers, focusing on the pivotal role of youth in fostering development and prosperity across the nation.
