SAF Deputy Chief of Staff Advocates for Enhanced Information Systems and Modern Warfare Capabilities

Khartoum: Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) Deputy Chief of Staff for Supply Lt. Gen. Khalafallah Abdullah Idris emphasized the necessity of advancing the Armed Forces' capabilities in information systems and modern warfare technologies to address current threats and prepare for future challenges.According to Sudan News Agency, Idris made these remarks during the conclusion of a workshop on digital transformation in the Armed Forces, which took place in Khartoum from August 16-18. The workshop, themed 'Digital Transformation as a Pillar of Combat Readiness,' highlighted the commitment to tackling the Armed Forces' challenges and represented a significant move towards institutional advancement.Idris reflected on the Armed Forces' experience during the Battle of Dignity, noting that the rebel militia benefitted from advanced technologies such as drones, electronic jamming, and weaponry. He pointed out that while the Armed Forces managed to overcome these challenges, it is crucial to analyze the lessons learned fr om the conflict scientifically and systematically to identify and address any shortcomings.The SAF Deputy Chief of Staff proposed fortifying the Information Systems and Statistics Directorate with an integrated structure to enhance data accuracy and expedite decision-making processes. He also advocated for incorporating military mobilization into the digital transformation framework and integrating war lessons into military training and professional development.Furthermore, Idris called for readiness against future challenges by adopting modern technologies and enhancing combat capabilities to meet the demands of contemporary warfare. He confirmed that the Armed Forces' leadership had embraced all the recommendations from the workshop and stressed the importance of implementing them into tangible programs and projects.
