Finance Ministry Introduces Digital Platform for Managing State-Owned Enterprises

Khartoum: State Minister for Finance Mohamed Nour Abdeldaim announced the launch of a digital platform to manage government-owned companies and public authorities, designed to integrate with the state's financial systems and later be rolled out across the states.

According to Sudan News Agency, the platform is part of a broader government program aimed at reforming public-sector entities. It seeks to strengthen transparency and governance, improve revenue collection, and support Sudan's efforts to secure debt relief. The initiative underscores the government's commitment to modernizing its financial management infrastructure and enhancing the oversight of public resources.

The meeting, which marked the launch of the platform, reviewed the current budget entities of companies, the status of distressed entities, and proposed reforms to boards of directors. It also addressed measures to strengthen financial and accounting controls, discussed electronic revenue collection, and proposed amendments to the Companies Act. These discussions are crucial steps toward restructuring and improving the performance of public-sector enterprises.

The Finance Ministry stated that meetings will be held regularly to monitor the performance of government entities and improve their efficiency. This ongoing oversight is expected to ensure that the digital platform achieves its objectives and contributes to the effective management of public-sector companies and authorities.
