Khartoum: Chief of Staff of the Sudanese Armed Forces, General Mohamed Osman Al-Hussein, stated that the gathering of numerous armies within the General Command Headquarters was held to honor the souls of the martyrs.
According to Sudan News Agency, Al-Hussein, in his inaugural speech following the lifting of the siege on the SAF General Command, announced the celebration of the army’s victories, referring to the events in the month of Rajab as significant victories for the SAF and the Sudanese populace. He emphasized that the assembly of advance forces from Bahri, Wadi Sayidina, and Omdurman was dedicated to the martyrs who safeguarded the General Command with their lives, underscoring its symbolic importance for the Sudanese army.
The Chief of Staff highlighted that lifting the siege of the General Command marks the beginning of a new era for the Sudanese Armed Forces, following a century of the army’s existence, and signifies a fresh chapter for the Sudanese people. Al-Hussein extended his congratulations to the officers and soldiers present at the General Command, appreciating their patience and the sacrifices made, referring to them as columns of martyrs. He prayed for divine mercy upon them, noting that thousands of officers, non-commissioned officers, and soldiers were laid to rest within the General Command. He further remarked that the victory serves as a motivation to continue efforts to cleanse every part of Sudanese territory.
The Chief of Staff vowed to the leadership of the army, the state, and the Sudanese people that the military will remain committed until every part of the country is freed from the presence of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia. He expressed his complete trust in the armed forces and supporting units to achieve the goal of securing the entire Sudanese territory in the near future.
