El-Fashir: RSF militia’s artillery shelling on markets and service facilities in El-Fashir has resulted in the death and injury of 86 citizens, as confirmed by the Sixth Infantry Division. The division has expressed its unwavering support, along with the citizens of North Darfur State, for the President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, who is regarded as a symbol of national sovereignty.
According to Sudan News Agency, the Sixth Infantry Division and local citizens are united against the rebel Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia and any internal or external conspiracies. The division’s daily press briefing reported that the RSF’s continuous artillery shelling on Friday led to 22 deaths and 64 injuries among civilians in El-Fashir.
The operational report from the Sixth Division detailed that the Air Force conducted air strikes targeting enemy assemblies, resulting in the destruction of nine combat vehicles and a Buffalo ambulance. These air strikes led to the death of 33 RSF members and injured 41 others. Additionally, further air strikes at Bir Margi hub destroyed 20 combat vehicles and resulted in 55 casualties. In Nyala, successful air strikes targeted enemy positions around the Nyala International Airport and other strategic locations, achieving significant damage.
The division’s briefing also highlighted internal disagreements within the Neutral Force Alliance due to the failure of the militia commander in Kabkabiya to recover looted items and release prisoners after a clash. It also noted ongoing militia escapes from Mellit towards Saraf Omra, Ad Daein, and Nyala due to fear of air strikes. The situation remains stable with forces making progress on all fronts, and there are calls for mercy for the martyrs, recovery for the injured, and the return of the missing.
