Khartoum: The Sudan Electricity Company’s Media Coordination Council announced that Merowe power station was targeted by drones at dawn on Saturday, April 5, 2025. The attack resulted in significant damage to the transformer supplying the Northern State, causing a widespread power outage in the region.
According to Sudan News Agency, the council’s statement emphasized that this assault on the power infrastructure is not an isolated incident but part of a series of repeated attacks on power stations.
