Doha: Qatar Airways resumed flights to Sudan on Thursday after a prolonged suspension, with its inaugural flight departing Hamad International Airport for Port Sudan International Airport at 9:00 a.m. local time.
According to Sudan News Agency, the inaugural flight was accompanied by Sudan's Ambassador to Qatar, Badr-Eddin Abdullah, and Qatar's Ambassador to Sudan, Mohammed Ibrahim Al-Sada. This marks a significant step in restoring air connectivity between the two nations following the suspension.
The flight was seen off at Hamad International Airport by Sheikh Jassim bin Fahad Al Thani, Head of the Aviation Policy and Regulatory Affairs Department, and Nizar Abbas Al-Agib of the Sudanese Embassy in Qatar, highlighting the diplomatic and cooperative efforts involved in resuming the service.
