Khartoum: Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris emphasized the importance of rehabilitating and upgrading the Arqin land border crossing in Northern State, in line with a plan prepared by the Defense Industries System aimed at bringing significant economic and developmental transformation to the crossing.
According to Sudan News Agency, the Prime Minister made these remarks while addressing a joint meeting with the General Administration of Borders and Border Crossings, which was attended by several ministers and relevant officials. The meeting reviewed a comprehensive plan for rehabilitating and developing the Arqin land crossing, with the goal of transforming it to reflect the country's image on an international scale.
The Prime Minister expressed his appreciation for the border administration staff, including their Egyptian counterparts, for their cooperation during the ongoing voluntary return process. The meeting reached an agreement to balance voluntary returns between the Ashkeit and Arqin crossings to prevent congestion as citizens make their return in the upcoming period.
