Port sudan: Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris reviewed the overall humanitarian and security situation in Central Darfur State, emphasizing government support to reclaim Darfur and overcome the rebellion swiftly through armed and supporting forces.
According to Sudan News Agency, this discussion took place during a meeting in Port Sudan with Central Darfur State’s Governor, Mustafa Tambour, and the Minister of Federal Government and Rural Development. The meeting highlighted the significant challenges in the state, specifically the deteriorating humanitarian conditions across its nine localities and the devastation of institutions and service facilities due to attacks by the rebel Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia.
Tambour, in his press statements after the meeting, informed the Prime Minister about the crimes and violations committed by the terrorist rebel RSF militia against the state’s residents. He detailed the dire health situation and the lack of health services, attributing these issues to hospitals being made inoperable by the militia’s actions.
Tambour also exposed the militia’s involvement in criminal activities, which have led to the spread of drugs in Darfur states, particularly in Central Darfur. He pointed out that the state’s open borders with the Central African Republic and Chad facilitate the daily influx of weapons and drugs.
The meeting also reviewed the state government’s performance report and achievements, including arrangements for student enrollment for the Sudanese Certificate examinations, the safe return of pilgrims, and the distribution of relief aid to citizens displaced to safer regions.
Tambour stated that the state security committee is fully operational, continuously monitoring the security situation from a safe location. He announced the completion of reconstruction and development plans and post-war programs, stressing the urgent need for rapid military action in Central Darfur.
