Port sudan: Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris has emphasized the importance of ensuring justice, particularly concerning the war and the crimes committed against citizens by the rebel Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia. He urged citizens, including legal professionals, to collaborate in monitoring the extensive violations perpetrated by the militia.
According to Sudan News Agency, this statement was made during a meeting with a delegation from the Bar Association at his office in Port Sudan. The discussions focused on the legal responsibilities of lawyers during the ongoing crisis, with the Prime Minister expressing his willingness to work closely with legal professionals to safeguard citizens’ rights.
Zain Al-Abideen Mohamed Hamad, the acting Head of the Bar Association, highlighted the association’s legal obligations, particularly in defending the country amidst the RSF’s widespread violations. He affirmed the Bar Association’s commitment to the Battle for Dignity and its support for the Government of Hope under Dr. Kamil Idris. He further mentioned the delegation’s briefing to the Prime Minister about the Bar Association’s efforts both domestically and internationally in providing legal support. He underscored the importance of lawyers as a cornerstone of justice and reiterated the association’s comprehensive cooperation with legal and judicial entities throughout the country.
