Khartoum: Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris has initiated a comprehensive review of decisions pertaining to higher education and scientific research. This initiative aims to develop educational programs that align with sustainable development goals and contribute to a comprehensive renaissance.
According to Sudan News Agency, Dr. Idris emphasized the importance of restoring the integrity of university centers abroad. He instructed the development of a clear strategy to enhance these centers’ roles in supporting the nation’s educational objectives. Additionally, he mandated the reopening of registration processes for Sudanese Certificate students for the years 2023 and 2024 at these external centers.
The directive also highlighted the necessity of supporting plans to gradually relocate universities back to their original locations in the national capital. This move is part of a broader initiative to centralize educational institutions.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister called upon university and higher institute administrations to expedite efforts to repatriate students currently studying abroad. The goal is to resume the educational process and restore normalcy as swiftly as possible.
