Munich: Prime Minister Professor Kamil Idris engaged in a significant meeting with President Rashad al-Alimi, head of Yemen's delegation at the Munich Security Conference. The discussions between the two leaders centered on reinforcing the historic ties and mutual interests shared by their nations.
According to Sudan News Agency, Prime Minister Idris communicated the greetings of Field General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, to the Yemeni President. Idris provided insights into the ongoing developments in Sudan, addressing the comprehensive aggression the country faces and spotlighting the government's initiatives for peace and stability. He highlighted his peace proposal presented at the UN Security Council last December, emphasizing the critical role of Yemen's stability and the prosperity of its people. The Prime Minister also called for heightened cooperation and coordination to enhance Arab security and tackle regional militia threats.
President Al-Alimi acknowledged the interconnectedness of Yemen's and Sudan's security. He assured Sudan of Yemen's unwavering support for its unity, stability, and territorial integrity. Al-Alimi stressed Yemen's dedication to fostering and expanding bilateral relations with Sudan, pointing out the conspiracies aimed at destabilizing Sudan. He underscored the necessity of an Arab-wide effort to combat militias and foster regional security through comprehensive cooperation.
