Port sudan: Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris has inaugurated several service facilities in Port Sudan, Red Sea State. These facilities include the rehabilitation and construction of an intensive care unit, a neonatal care unit at the Children’s Hospital, an oxygen plant with a production capacity of 30 cubic meters per hour at the Accident Hospital, and a water desalination plant for the Accident, Children’s, Chest, and Psychiatric Hospitals, with a production capacity of 50 cubic meters per hour.
According to Sudan News Agency, these projects are supported by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, via the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief), through the national implementing partner, Kafaat Organization for Studies and Human Development. This came as part of the Kingdom’s efforts to support and develop the health sector in the Red Sea State.
The Prime Minister expressed Sudan’s appreciation to the Kingdom, both government and people, for its development support, praising its backing role for the Sudanese people, noting that these projects are a living model of cooperation between brothers.
Kamil Idris stood on the progress of the rehabilitation project for the truck-based desalination plant in Port Sudan, in the presence of the Red Sea Wali (governor), Lt. Gen. Mustafa Mohamed Nour. He received assurances from the implementing party that the project would be inaugurated in the near future, praising the efforts of all those who contributed to this work.
The Wali’s representative, the state’s Director General of the Health Sector, Dr. Ahlam Abdul-Rasoul, stated that the projects represent a qualitative leap in the health sector and support the state government’s efforts to indigenize treatment within the state. She expressed her appreciation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for this support.
Saudi Ambassador Ali bin Hassan Jaafar explained that the support was an expression of the deep-rooted historical relations between Sudan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, underlining his country’s commitment to the security, stability, and well-being of the Sudanese people. He expressed his thanks and appreciation for the Prime Minister’s inauguration of these projects, with the participation of the Red Sea Wali.
