Port sudan: The transitional Prime Minister, Dr. Kamil Idris, recently welcomed a delegation of scholars, imams, and preachers at his office in Port Sudan, where they presented a supportive vision for the Government of Hope’s initiatives during the interim period. This vision aims to promote national recovery, combat hate speech, dismantle narrow regionalist arguments, and unify internal ranks and the social fabric.
According to Sudan News Agency, the meeting was part of broader discussions and consultations with societal components to prepare the environment for the transitional period. Dr. Idris commended the role of scholars and preachers in this process, highlighting the importance of regular meetings to ensure ongoing engagement and collaboration.
Dr. Mohamed El-Amin Ismail, a member of the delegation, noted in press statements that the meeting addressed the role of imams and preachers in raising awareness and strengthening internal cohesion to ensure the success of the transitional period. He emphasiz
ed that the delegation presented a comprehensive reform vision based on experience and expertise, aimed at enhancing national construction and complementing the government’s reform and development goals from a scientific, intellectual, and societal perspective.
Professor Salih El-Tom, also part of the delegation, expressed the imams and preachers’ support for the armed forces in the War of Dignity against rebel militias. He announced their backing for the prime minister’s efforts to lead the country to a safe haven, commending Dr. Idris’s national speech and vision that has instilled hope among the Sudanese people.
The meeting further explored strategies to ensure the success of the prime minister’s mission, support for the armed forces, and contributions to the Sudan Rebuilding Project initiated by President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan.
