Cairo: Transitional Prime Minister Professor Kamel El-Tayib Idris arrived in Cairo for his inaugural foreign visit, warmly welcomed by Egyptian Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly at Cairo International Airport. This visit marks a significant step in fostering closer ties between Sudan and Egypt, with a focus on economic and trade cooperation.
According to Sudan News Agency, Prime Minister Idris is scheduled to engage in discussions with Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi and hold talks with various Egyptian officials. The agenda aims to explore avenues for further collaboration, emphasizing the importance of strengthening economic and trade relations between the two nations.
Sudan’s Ambassador to Cairo, Emad Adawi, highlighted that the visit underscores the high regard the Transitional Prime Minister has for Egypt and its leadership. He noted that the visit is in line with the directives of both countries’ presidents to maintain coordination on regional and international issues and ensure continuous consultation between the governments.
Ambassador Adawi further elaborated that the visit provides an opportunity to affirm Sudan’s commitment to Egypt as a strategic partner, especially in reconstruction, benefitting from Egypt’s expertise in construction and development. The discussions will also cover bilateral relations and explore new opportunities to enhance cooperation, with particular attention to supporting Sudanese citizens in Egypt.
The high-level delegation accompanying Prime Minister Idris includes key figures such as the Minister of Culture and Information, the Minister of Tourism, and officials from the State Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
