Port sudan: The Transitional Council Prime Minister, Professor Kamil Idris, convened with the United Kingdom’s Special Coordinator for Sudan, Mr. Richard Croder, at his office in Port Sudan on Wednesday. The discussions were centered on the ongoing humanitarian crisis and international support dynamics affecting Sudan.
According to Sudan News Agency, Mr. Croder affirmed the UK’s commitment to continuing humanitarian aid to Sudan amidst worsening conditions resulting from the ongoing conflict led by rebel militias. He highlighted the necessity for global partners and organizations to honor their humanitarian pledges, amounting to £800 million, made during recent meetings in London.
During the meeting, Mr. Croder mentioned plans to reconvene in New York during the United Nations General Assembly sessions to further these discussions. He also underscored ongoing efforts to broker a ceasefire in El-Fashir and to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid to affected civilians.
