Port sudan: Prime Minister Dr. Kamal Idris has affirmed the government’s interest in developing relations with Italy and strengthening liaise mechanisms between the two countries to serve their joint interests. He praised the efforts of Italian organizations operating in the country.
According to Sudan News Agency, the Prime Minister met with the Head of the Italian Non-Governmental Humanitarian Emergency Organization, Risal Mitch, at his office in Port Sudan City on Tuesday. The head of the organization stated, in press statements, that she briefed the Prime Minister on the organization’s activities, noting that they have been working in Port Sudan, Nyala, and Khartoum since 2003.
She pointed out that the organization manages the Peace Hospital for Cardiac Surgery in Khartoum State and several other projects. She expressed hope that the security situation in the country would improve and that work with local authorities would develop to ensure continuity in operations at a high level of quality. She noted that all services provided by the organization are free to the Sudanese people.
