Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris Evaluates Central Bank’s Role in Economic Recovery

Khartoum: As part of following up on the country's economic situation, Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris conducted an inspection visit on Thursday to the headquarters of the Central Bank of Sudan in Khartoum, accompanied by Khartoum State Wali Ahmed Osman Hamza. During the visit, His Excellency met with the Governor of the Central Bank of Sudan (CBOS), Amina Mirghani, and Deputy Governor Al-Mua'tasim Abdullah Al-Faki. According to Sudan News Agency, the meeting reviewed progress made in implementing banking sector reform programmes and efforts aimed at restoring the sector's vitality and performance following the challenges it has faced in recent periods. The discussions also highlighted the central bank's role in supporting reconstruction projects in Khartoum State, including contributions to infrastructure rehabilitation and the provision of essential services. The meeting underscored the importance of the banking sector's role in stimulating the housing sector, expanding financing, and broadening banking ou treach in markets to enhance economic stability in the country.
