Khartoum: Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris announced a set of directives to all ministries, institutions, and Sudanese embassies abroad regarding full mobilization to carry out their respective duties in confronting the aggression targeting the country.
According to Sudan News Agency, the Prime Minister, in a statement issued on Thursday, highlighted the acts of killing, genocide, and atrocities committed by the rebel Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia in the cities of El-Fashir and Bara. He noted that these acts defy description and endurance.
The statement emphasized that the entire nation is now in a state of full mobilization alongside the people of El-Fashir and Bara to stop the ethnic cleansing, genocide, killings, torture, and slaughter being committed against women, the elderly, and children.
Dr. Idris urged the Sudanese people to stand united at this critical juncture in the face of the aggression targeting the Sudanese nation. He warned that the ongoing situation amounts to a systematic campaign to annihilate an ancient people and criticized the international community for its inaction and delay in responding to the crisis.
He appealed to the UN Security Council, the United Nations, and international organizations to assume their responsibilities and put an end to the chaos threatening millions of defenseless civilians and the stability of the region. The Prime Minister called for urgent and decisive measures to halt the crimes, protect civilians, and prosecute those responsible for financing, planning, or contributing to the atrocities.
Dr. Idris emphasized that Sudan should not be a battlefield for settling scores or distorting the nation’s memory. He reminded that Sudan is a land of ancient civilizations that have taught humanity dignity and justice. The people of Sudan, he stated, are free and noble, standing firmly against oppression.
In his conclusion, Dr. Idris assured that the blood of the victims will not be shed in vain but will serve as a beacon and a lasting testimony to their steadfastness and resilience.
