Khartoum: A phone call was made on Monday between Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris and Ramtane Lamamra, the Personal Envoy of the UN Secretary-General in Sudan, to discuss several issues.
According to Sudan News Agency, the Prime Minister affirmed that the priorities of the expected Government of Hope are achieving peace and stability, voluntary return, national recovery, people’s livelihoods and security, and preparing the country for free, fair, and transparent elections. He stressed that the Government of Hope is a “civilian technocratic government” that will be formed soon, subject to full commitment to the government’s program.
Ramtane Lamamra expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Prime Minister and his interest in the peace process and peace, noting that he will brief the Security Council on the political developments and the humanitarian situation in Sudan this week.
