Damascus: Polling centers in some electoral districts have closed after electoral colleges cast their votes in the first parliamentary elections in Syria. Spokesperson for the Higher Election Committee, Nawar Najmeh, told SANA that voting has concluded at the polling centers in Daraa’s al-Sanamin, Baniyas in Tartus, and al-Qusayr in Homs, and vote counting has begun.
According to Syrian Arab News Agency, election centers in Aleppo, Damascus, and Homs have also closed and commenced vote counting. This marks a key phase in the electoral process as the counting of votes will determine the outcomes in these pivotal regions.
