Khartoum: More than 90,000 students have completed the online application procedures for the general admission first round, as announced by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. This marks the end of the online application period for the deferred batch of Sudanese Certificate holders for the year 2023, as well as equivalent Arab and foreign certificates.
According to Sudan News Agency, this development was highlighted during a meeting between the Undersecretary of the Ministry, Professor Mohamed Hassan Dahab, and the Director General of the General Administration of Information Technology and Networks, Dr. Engineer Babiker Hussein Ahmed. Dr. Babiker explained that the online application process, which began on June 28, was extended until July 10. This extension allowed the majority of students to complete their procedures without difficulty. The Ministry’s proactive measures in resolving any issues encountered by applicants contributed to this success.
Professor Dahab emphasized that the smooth completion of the online application process reflects the commitment of Sudanese students, both domestic and abroad, to pursue higher education within the country. He highlighted the longstanding reputation of Sudanese higher education institutions in accommodating students and their significant role in shaping the future. He remarked that this achievement symbolizes the resilience of educational institutions, students, and their families in rebuilding from the impacts of conflict, demonstrating that education prevails over destruction.
Additionally, Professor Dahab commended the efforts of the Sudanese Armed Forces and other regular forces in overcoming rebel militias and restoring services in affected areas. He expressed gratitude to all who contributed to the success of the online application process, acknowledging the challenging circumstances facing the nation.
