Khartoum: Chairman of the Revolutionary Awakening Council, Sheikh Musa Hilal, commended the growing role played by the popular resistance in the Darfur region, particularly in supporting the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the joint forces of armed struggle movements across various combat fronts. This came during his meeting in Khartoum with a delegation of the Darfur Popular Resistance, headed by Secretary-General Mohamed Ibrahim Mustafa, where discussions focused on ways to confront and defeat the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia and expel it from Darfur and Kordofan states.
According to Sudan News Agency, Hilal affirmed that the current phase represents a decisive turning point in the country's history, necessitating the highest levels of national cohesion and the integration of roles. He stressed that defending Sudan constitutes both a moral and a religious duty. He also highlighted the importance of strengthening the internal front to overcome challenges and restore stability.
The meeting forms part of ongoing efforts to enhance coordination among forces supporting the Sudanese Armed Forces in the 'Battle of Dignity.' For its part, the Popular Resistance delegation expressed full readiness to cooperate with the Awakening Council and to intensify efforts in support of the Armed Forces and allied formations. The delegation also voiced confidence in Sheikh Musa Hilal's ability to lead inclusive initiatives aimed at reinforcing national unity and consolidating internal cohesion.
