Musa Hilal and Masalit Sultan Agree to Coordinate Efforts in Support of National Causes

Khartoum: Chairman of the Sudanese Revolutionary Awakening Council, Sheikh Musa Hilal, and the Sultan of Dar Masalit, Saad Abdelrahman Bahr Al-Din, underscored the necessity of strengthening and coordinating political, military, and social efforts between the two sides to advance national causes.

According to Sudan News Agency, they also agreed to prioritize the expedited return of forcibly displaced Masalit communities to their homeland. During their meeting in Khartoum on Tuesday, the two sides agreed to launch an inclusive national initiative aimed at unifying Sudanese stakeholders - particularly in Darfur - to confront the schemes of the rebel militia. They further agreed to establish a joint committee tasked with formulating a comprehensive vision for the initiative, in the presence of King Yagoub Mohamed Al-Malik, leader of the Masalit in Gereida locality, South Darfur State.

The Masalit delegation commended Sheikh Musa Hilal's national role and his clear stance in support of the Armed Forces and legitimate state institutions in the 'War of Dignity,' affirming that crimes and violations committed by the militia against the Sudanese people are not subject to statutes of limitation and that justice will ultimately prevail.

For his part, Hilal conveyed the Council's condolences for the victims of the War of Dignity in El Geneina, particularly the late Governor of West Darfur State, General Khamis Abkar. He strongly condemned the grave violations committed against the Masalit community in the city, describing them as a flagrant breach of humanitarian values and Sudanese societal norms, and holding militia leaders fully accountable.

He stressed the necessity of pursuing perpetrators through all available legal and judicial avenues domestically and internationally, reiterating that no resolution to the war is possible except through the defeat of the militia and its supporters and the consolidation of national unity behind the Armed Forces. He affirmed that defending the homeland is a national duty incumbent upon every Sudanese citizen.
