Minnawi Urges International Community to Take Moral Action to End El-Fashir Tragedy

El-fashir: Governor of Darfur Region Minni Arko Minnawi affirmed that the international community is today required to take a genuine humanitarian and moral stance to put an end to the suffering of civilians in the stricken city of El-Fashir.

According to Sudan News Agency, this came in a statement posted by Minnawi in which he renewed his thanks and appreciation to the French parliamentary delegation after it once again listened to testimonies from people fleeing El-Fashir and was briefed on the scale of the humanitarian suffering and violations endured by innocent civilians.

Minnawi stressed that conveying these facts to the international community represents an important step toward delivering justice for the victims and exposing the crimes committed against unarmed citizens. He further underscored that the people of El-Fashir, along with all displaced persons (IDPs) and survivors of the horrors of war, are today in urgent need of intervention to help protect civilians and provide them with humanitarian assistance.
