Minnawi: French Parliamentary Delegation Heard Testimonies from Survivors of Militia Crimes in Khartoum

Khartoum: Governor of Darfur Region Minni Arko Minnawi said the visiting French parliamentary delegation listened in Khartoum on Saturday to firsthand testimonies from survivors and eyewitnesses regarding crimes and violations committed by the Janjaweed militia in El-Geneina, El-Fashir, Wad Al-Noura, and Khartoum.

According to Sudan News Agency, Minnawi stated that the testimonies also covered other areas that witnessed widespread abuses and crimes against humanity committed by the Dagalo militia against civilians. The witnesses provided detailed accounts of the humanitarian tragedy, reporting instances of killings, forced displacement, and grave violations against women and children.

The testimonies highlighted the urgent need for international intervention. The witnesses called upon the global community to take swift action to ensure justice for the victims and to hold the perpetrators accountable for their actions. The French parliamentary delegation's visit signifies an important step towards acknowledging the crisis and taking measures to address the violations reported in the region.
