Khartoum: The Ministry of Youth and Sports has announced the completion of its preparations to return to Khartoum and resume its activities from its headquarters in Omdurman. Minister of Youth and Sports, Prof. Ahmed Adam, stated in a press statement that security measures have been finalized for the Sports City and the Youth City, formerly known as the National Camps Headquarters, along with several other facilities, including main entrances and gates.
According to Sudan News Agency, the minister emphasized that the ministry, in coordination with relevant authorities, is working to safeguard the assets of the Sudanese people and preserve the infrastructure of the country’s largest sector. He reassured the youth and sports communities and called for collective efforts to achieve a shift in the understanding of youth and sports action, adding, “Together, we make change.”
The minister also disclosed ongoing communications and coordination with local and international institutions and companies to begin mainte
nance and rehabilitation of facilities that suffered vandalization, which had paralyzed youth and sports activities. He pledged that the sector would return stronger than before.
Since the beginning of September, it is noteworthy that the youth and sports sectors have witnessed a partial return of employees to the ministry’s headquarters in Khartoum as part of a plan to renovate its facilities.
