Tripoli: Minister of Industry and Trade, Mahasin Ali Yaqoub, met with Libya's Minister of Industry and Minerals, Mohamed Abdel-Gadir, during the General Assembly of the Arab Industrial Development Organization. The meeting aimed to bolster industrial and trade cooperation between Sudan and Libya.
According to Sudan News Agency, the meeting included delegations from both nations, as well as Sudan's Ambassador to Libya, Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Dr. Ibrahim Mohamed Ahmed, and Deputy Head of Mission Ambassador Essam Idris. Minister Mahasin emphasized Sudan's commitment to enhancing its longstanding relations with Libya for mutual benefit.
The Libyan minister expressed gratitude for hosting the Arab assembly, highlighting the gathering's role in promoting industrial integration among Arab nations. He noted the opportunity to turn shared aspirations with Sudan into practical partnerships in the industrial, mining, and intra-Arab trade sectors.
Minister Mahasin congratulated Libya on the successful assembly and expressed Sudan's intent to leverage such events to reinforce bilateral ties, activate memoranda of understanding, and expand technical expertise exchange. Discussions also covered improving investment climates and supporting joint Arab initiatives.
