Khartoum: Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Professor Ahmed Mudawi Musa stated that the recent resumption of activities by university institutions in Khartoum State emphasizes that education in Sudan will persist despite existing challenges and conditions. The Minister's comments came during a field visit to the College of Customs, Medical Sciences and Technology in Khartoum State as part of a series of inspection tours of higher education institutions.
According to Sudan News Agency, the Minister was welcomed by Lieutenant General (Police) Salah Ahmed Ibrahim and Dean of the College Dr. Mohamed Ismail, alongside the Director of the General Administration for Private, National and Foreign Higher Education Dr. Abdel-Gadir Mohamed Hassan, Director of the Ministerial Executive Office Dr. Murtada Ali Othman, several Customs Police leaders, faculty members, and many students. Minister Mudawi expressed satisfaction with the return of normal activities in Khartoum State, emphasizing that the restart of the educational process highlights the state's determination to maintain stability and ensure the continuity of education. He praised the Customs College for sustaining academic activities despite national challenges, viewing it as a model of resilience and responsibility.
Minister Mudawi reiterated the ministry's commitment to supporting higher education institutions and creating a conducive environment for stable academic operations, stressing that education will remain a national priority. Director General of Customs Lieutenant General (Police) Salah Ahmed Ibrahim confirmed that the college has continued its educational and training mission without interruption, highlighting the importance of capacity-building and qualifying national cadres. He noted that supporting education is a key responsibility of Customs, and the forthcoming phase will witness further development in academic and training programs to enhance education quality.
Dean of the College Dr. Mohamed Ismail showcased a documentary film detailing the institution's history and its academic and training contributions. The Minister and his delegation later toured examination halls, lecture rooms, and laboratories to review the progress of the educational process and facilities available.
