Khartoum: Minister of Health Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim met on Monday with the Wali of Kassala State, Major General (Ret.) Al-Sadiq Mohamed Al-Azraq, to discuss the current health challenges and the development of new health institutions within the state. The meeting, held at the Minister's office, was attended by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Ali Babiker Sayed Ahmed, along with several health leaders.
According to Sudan News Agency, the Minister reiterated his ministry's commitment to equipping medical facilities in Kassala with the necessary tools and supplies. He highlighted the ongoing collaboration with state health authorities to create effective strategies for sector support. During the meeting, it was announced that some medical equipment had already arrived, and the Minister congratulated the Wali on the achievements of the medical city. The city features the Heart Center, Kidney Transplant Center, Emergency and Trauma Hospital, and specialized centers, which are set for inauguration soon. Additionally, a new MRI machine has arrived at Halfa Hospital.
The meeting underscored the state's efforts to enhance health services, with the Wali emphasizing the significance of addressing immediate health care needs. He highlighted the necessity of completing the facilities for heart, emergency, and pediatric care, and noted the Minister's commitment to providing equipment and addressing the oxygen station issues. The Wali expressed gratitude for the Ministry's support, looking forward to the prompt opening of these crucial health institutions.
