Khartoum: Minister of Federal Governance and Rural Development, Engineer Mohammed Kortikela, met on Monday in his office with members of the General Secretariat of the General Union of the Nuba Mountains, headed by Union President Mohammed Abu Anja Aburas.
According to Sudan News Agency, the meeting focused on key national issues, particularly the enhancement of peace and peaceful coexistence. Discussions also covered the support of the Nuba tribes and mobilized forces for the Sudanese Armed Forces in their efforts in the 'Battle of Dignity.' Union President Mohammed Abu Anja Aburas announced plans for a general conference for the Nuba tribes aimed at unifying visions and preparing for participation in the Sudanese-Sudanese dialogue, as called for by the President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC).
Aburas emphasized the Union's commitment to national issues tied to reconstruction and development. He called for urgent coordination with the Wali to organize the Union's affairs and activate the role of native administration to strengthen social cohesion and stability.
The Minister of Federal Governance highlighted the importance of national unity, reconciliation, and the fight against divisive discourse, stressing the need to foster peace among all local communities in the state. He directed the organization of a series of official meetings for the Union leadership with officials in Khartoum State and various state institutions to support their objectives.
Additionally, the Minister addressed the situation of returnees and displaced persons from South Kordofan, underscoring the necessity of coordinated efforts to provide humanitarian assistance through official state channels to ensure efficient delivery of support.
