Minister of Energy Highlights Renewable Energy’s Role in Economic Growth

Shandi: The Minister of Energy, Engineer Al-Mutasim Ibrahim Ahmed, underscored the role of renewable energy in enhancing the agricultural and industrial sectors during his recent visit to the Shandi solar power station.

According to Sudan News Agency, the minister highlighted that the Shandi solar power station, with its 10 megawatt capacity, plays a crucial role in stabilizing the electricity supply in the region. This stability supports new agricultural projects, which are vital for the country's economy.

Engineer Ahmed emphasized that the government prioritizes agricultural production as it is considered the backbone of Sudan's economy. During his visit, he received a detailed briefing from the project team about obstacles impeding the station's progress.

The minister urged swift action to address these challenges to ensure the timely completion of the station. This completion is essential for increasing energy supplies across different sources in the region.
