Khartoum: Minister of Cabinet Affairs Dr. Lamia Abdel-Ghaffar has directed the National Medical Supplies Fund (NMSF) to ensure the provision of essential medicines, guaranteeing citizens easy access to their pharmaceutical needs.
According to Sudan News Agency, this directive was issued during Dr. Lamia’s meeting in Port Sudan with Minister of Health Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim. Dr. Haitham provided a comprehensive briefing on the country’s health situation and the performance of health facilities. He also presented the ministry’s plan to reform the health sector in cooperation with the World Health Organization (WHO) during the reconstruction phase.
Dr. Lamia emphasized the significance of aligning the reform plan with the state’s health strategy for the next three years. She also highlighted an agreement to establish a body comprising concerned parties to combat diseases and epidemics prevalent in several states, while working to secure necessary funding support.
The Minister of Cabinet Affairs commended the efforts of health workers during the war period and acknowledged the sacrifices they made in serving citizens.
