Gedaref: Minister of Animal and Fish Resources, Professor Ahmed Al-Tijani, announced the launch of an ambitious plan to advance the country’s livestock sector through the establishment of an integrated livestock production city in several states. The project will employ the latest scientific and technical methods to include dairy, meat, and fattening production.
According to Sudan News Agency, during his meeting with the Wali (governor) of Gedaref State, Lt. Gen. Mohamed Ahmed Hassan, the Minister highlighted his ministry’s comprehensive strategy aimed at creating a qualitative leap in the livestock sector through a series of coordinated measures. He also called on the Gedaref government to allocate a plot of land for the establishment of the livestock production city.
The Minister praised the vast animal wealth that characterizes Gedaref State, affirming ongoing efforts to attract foreign investors to Sudan by leveraging the country’s high-quality animal products.
For his part, the Wali of Gedaref State reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to developing and modernizing the livestock sector, noting the state’s significant comparative advantages, including having one of the largest herds in the country and extensive natural grazing areas in the Butana region. He pledged to implement all measures that would help transform the livestock sector in the state.
