Minister of Animal Resources Addresses ‘Zero Waste’ Workshop to Maximize Benefits from Sacrificial Animal Hides

Khartoum: The Minister of Animal Resources and Fisheries, Professor Ahmed El-Tigani El-Mansouri, is set to address a pivotal workshop focused on the prevention of waste in sacrificial animal hides. This event is being held at the Ministry's headquarters in Khartoum and is organized by the Ministry of Animal Resources and Fisheries in collaboration with the Sudan News Agency (SUNA).

According to Sudan News Agency, the workshop is part of the 'Zero Waste' Activities Program and is spearheaded by the General Directorate for Animal Production Development along with the National Center for Leather Improvement. The event will feature a presentation on the current state of Sudan's leather sector by Rania Abdel Halim Abdel Razek, a specialist in livestock production. Additionally, Engineer Ishraga Babiker Mohamed Ahmed is scheduled to present a detailed plan for the collection of sacrificial animal hides leading up to the year 2026.

The opening session of the workshop will include remarks from Dr. Ammar Al-Sheikh, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Animal Resources and Fisheries, and the Director of the General Directorate for Animal Production Development. By aiming to reduce losses in sacrificial animal hides and maximize their economic benefits, the workshop seeks to bolster national industries and enhance the added value of the livestock sector.
