Khartoum: The Director of the Directorate of Peace and Humanitarian Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), Ambassador Omar Al-Amin Abdullah, has urged the international community to recognize its responsibilities by classifying the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) Militia as a terrorist organization. Ambassador Abdullah emphasized that the militia has fulfilled all criteria necessary for such classification.
According to Sudan News Agency, Ambassador Abdullah highlighted at a press conference in Portsudan that the international community has not adequately met its humanitarian obligations towards Sudan. He pointed out that less than 30% of the promised aid has been delivered to the country. Ambassador Abdullah called for decisive international action against the RSF militia.
The Director explained that the Sudanese government has taken numerous measures to facilitate the delivery of aid, including opening borders and airports and granting necessary visas and approvals for United Nations and humanitaria
n organization personnel. Over 3,000 visas have been issued to these organizations.
Ambassador Omar Abdullah also expressed the government’s willingness to collaborate with all humanitarian entities, citing effective coordination with South Sudan and UN agencies that recently enabled the successful delivery of aid to Kadugli in South Kordofan.
He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring aid reaches those in need, refuting claims that the government is hindering aid delivery. Ambassador Abdullah asserted that the government has made significant efforts to support humanitarian initiatives and fulfill its responsibilities.
